Port Hope Archives The Port Hope Archives exists to collect and preserve archival materials which illustrate the growth Profanity is also prohibited.

Established as The Ganaraska Region Archives in 1994 and renamed the Port Hope Archives in 2005, the Archives has been serving the Municipality of Port Hope for over 20 years. Supported by dedicated volunteers and generous members, the Archives provides access to archival materials related to Port Hope’s history. An archivist is on staff to catalogue the collection and assist researchers. The coll

ection is comprised of materials donated to the Archives to preserve for the future and to be used by anyone interested in Port Hope and Hope Township’s history. Archival materials include photographs, ledgers, documents, journals and maps. Researchers are welcome to visit the Archives and use the reading room to conduct research on their home, family or the local history. A reference computer is available to search the internet, local databases and the Archives’ collection. A user fee charge is applicable to non-members, and no cost to members of the Port Hope Archives. Appropriate Use Protocol:
The Port Hope Archives has the right to delete posts that do not follow the appropriate use protocol. The Port Hope Archives page was created for individuals interested in the Port Hope Archives to share and receive information about the following topics: the Port Hope Archives, heritage, Canadian history, local tourism and developments in the fields of museums, libraries and archival studies. Anyone using this site is asked to convey comments, posts and questions that are specific to the topics listed above. Facebook's Rights and Responsibilities Policy (which can be found at http://www.facebook.com/terms.php) and the mandate of the Port Hope Archives for social media, govern all posts on the Port Hope Archives page and forms the basis of the Appropriate Use Protocol. All posts must be respectful, and must be free of threatening, hateful and demeaning content. Posts that violate the Appropriate Use Protocol or do not comply with the mandate of the Port Hope Archives for social media will be removed immediately and the user may be blocked from further access to the site.
