Port Hardy is turning 60.

But this milestone is about so much more than a number. It is about the people, the memories, and the moments that have shaped this community, and the generations of history that came long before incorporation.

We know some of the best stories are sitting in photo albums, tucked into drawers, or shared around kitchen tables.

We would love to see them.

If you have photos, memories, or stories that capture what Port Hardy means to you, please share them with us and be part of celebrating our community’s story.

Tax season is here.

For many business owners, it’s not just about numbers. It’s about everything behind them. The long days, the risks taken, the people you employ, and the community you support.

Whether you’re filing early or racing the clock, this is your reminder to pause for a moment and recognize what it took to get here.

If you need support, reach out. Our local accountants, bookkeepers, and financial professionals are part of this business community too, and they are here to help.

And when it’s all done, take a breath. You’ve earned it.

Even the office cat got the memo… it’s time to slow down. 🐰

As we head into the Easter weekend, we hope you find a moment to rest, recharge, and enjoy the company of those around you.

Wishing a happy Easter to those celebrating, and warm wishes to everyone marking the weekend in their own way.

We’ll see you next week, refreshed and ready.

Some days, it’s not the big wins that stand out. It’s the small things.

The lights coming on in the morning.
The first customer through the door.
A familiar face at the counter.
A regular who didn’t have to come back, but did.

We hear a lot about challenges right now, and they are real. But so is the consistency, the effort, and the quiet determination behind every business that keeps showing up.

It doesn’t always make headlines.
It doesn’t always get celebrated.

But it’s there.
And it matters.

Take a moment this weekend to pause and reflect.

In a small community like ours, businesses look after their people.

One way many Chamber members do that is through the Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan.

This program was created specifically for small and medium-sized businesses, making health, dental, and employee benefits accessible even for companies with just a few employees.

It helps local employers provide the kind of coverage that supports families, builds strong workplaces, and keeps our community thriving.

That is the power of Chamber membership, practical tools that help local businesses succeed.

Curious how it works? Reach out and we would be happy to connect you with more information.

The Job Fair kicks off at 10 am. Grab a coffee and come see what’s possible.

No resume yet? That’s okay. Come chat with employers, ask questions, and gather information. It’s a great first step.

Today, our hearts are heavy.

We are thinking of the people of Tumbler Ridge and extending our deepest sympathy to everyone affected by today’s tragic events. We hold space for the families, students, educators, first responders, and the wider community as they grieve and begin to process the unimaginable.

We also want to express our solidarity with our sister chamber, the Tumbler Ridge & District Chamber of Commerce, and their members during this incredibly difficult time. When one community hurts, we all feel it.

In light of today, Chamber Week begins not with celebration, but with compassion. The work of chambers has always been rooted in community. In moments like this, that means showing up with care, empathy, and support.

We will continue Chamber Week thoughtfully in the days ahead. Today, we pause and stand together.
