On behalf of everyone involved in the MMIWG2S+ awareness gathering, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all who helped make this meaningful day possible ❤️ Together, we honoured, remembered, advocated, and stood in unity for our missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit+ loved ones.
A heartfelt thank you to the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nations, and North Island Building Blocks for your generous funding and support and to the St. Columba Anglican Church for your kind donation. Your commitment to community healing and awareness is deeply appreciated.
Thank you to, Michael Henry, Nadine Shaw, and the NIBB staff for the wonderful catering and care shown throughout the event.
We raise our hands to Hereditary Chiefs Calvin Hunt and Richard Dawson for your presence, guidance, and wisdom shared.
Thank you to the beautiful singers whose voices lifted our spirits and brought strength and healing to the gathering.
We are grateful to Tsow-Tun Le Lum Society for providing the brushings and helping create a space of comfort, healing, and wellness.
Thank you to the RCMP Indigenous Policing Services, CST, Nicholas Mandryk, and Edward Harrison for your support and presence during the march.
We also extend our appreciation to Deputy Mayor Fred Robertson and the District of Port Hardy for standing with our community in recognition and advocacy.
Most importantly, thank you to all the beautiful children, families, Elders, survivors, and community organizations who attended, shared space, walked together, and helped carry this important message forward. Your strength, love, resilience, compassion, and unity remind us that no one walks alone.
Together, we continue to honour our loved ones, raise awareness, and advocate for change.
