Did you know that we now have a donor milk collection depot on the northern part of the island, located at Campbell River Health Unit! See the link for more details https://www.islandhealth.ca/health-topics/pregnancy-birth-babies/donor-milk-banks

Some babies in hospital rely on donated breast milk to grow and stay healthy. For babies born early or too sick to breastfeed, donor milk can provide important nutrition when they need it most.

Donor milk is safely collected and shared with hospitals across B.C.

If you have extra breast milk, you can help.

As many as 1 in 5 women have a mental health problem during pregnancy and in the first year following birth. Without support, postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety can pose a serious risk to your health and the safety of your baby. The best thing you can do for yourself and your family is to reach out for support and talk to others about how you feel.
