IMPORTANT! Wildfire risk season starts at 8AM tomorrow (03/15):

Beginning at the above listed time tomorrow, burning will NOT be permitted between the hours of 8am and 2pm DAILY, until October 15th, 2024.

"During wildfire risk season (15th March to 15th October), no domestic brush burning or campfires are allowed between 8:00am and 2:00pm, except industrial permits. During wildfire risk season, burn restrictions are updated daily at 2:00pm (you also need to follow municipal bylaws for your area)," says DNRR.

Burning restrictions can be viewed at https://novascotia.ca/burnsafe/, or are available by calling: 1 (855) 564-2876.

Burn restrictions are valid 2pm the day of, leading up to 8am the following day. Outside fires return to NOT being permitted between 8am and 2pm daily, and then restrictions are reassessed and posted. There will be three types of restrictions DAILY:

GREEN: Burning is permitted after 2pm (that day), until 8am (the following day).

YELLOW: Burning is permitted after 7pm, until 8 am (the following day).

RED: Burning is not permitted.
