Search Warrant Executed

On June 3rd 2026 Saugeen Shores Police responded to a weapons incident in the 500 block of Market Street. While on scene officers observed evidence of drug possession.

As a result several people on scene were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.

A search warrant was applied for by the Criminal Investigation Unit and granted for a residential property later that afternoon.

As a result of the initial report and the conclusion of the search warrant the following people have been charged:

1) 39-year-old male of Saugeen Shores
2) 32-year-old female of Saugeen Shores
3) 42-year-old male of no fixed address
4) 46-year-old female of no fixed address
5) 25-year-old female of Saugeen Shores
6) 22-year-old male of no fixed address
7) 25-year-old male of Saugeen Shores

The above 7 have all been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance x 3.

The 39-year old male has also been charged with Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, Failure to comply with Probation Order and Assault with a Weapon.

The 38-year-old male has also been charged with Obstruct Peace Officer.

The 25-year-old male has also been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking.

All 7 people were held in custody for a Bail Hearing. 6 accused were released on Release Orders by the courts while the 25-year-old male was remanded into custody pending a future court date.

This investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.

Earlier this year Saugeen Shores Police Service with the assistance of the Criminal Investigations Unit conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of Bricker Street and Gustavus Street.

As a result of the investigation a 30-year-old male from Brampton was arrested and charged with the following offences:

- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Co***ne
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl (opioid)

The accused was held for a bail hearing where he was remanded into custody. He was later released from custody on a Release Order by the courts.

Samples of the drugs seized were sent for analysis and confirmed to be Co***ne, Methamphetamine and Fluorofentanyl.

(Fluorofentanyl can be up to 2 times as strong as fentanyl, which itself is approximately 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine.)

On June 1st 2026 Saugeen Shores Police teamed up with the Ministry of Transportation, Ontario Provincial Police, Ministry of Finance and Public Health to conduct a Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspection Blitz in Saugeen Shores.

21 vehicle were inspected

20 charges were laid in relation to Annual Inspections, Daily Inspections, Dangerous Goods, Drivers licences, Weight restrictions and registrations.

On June 2nd 2026 members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service located a male in the Town of Port Elgin who was activley wanted by the Toronto Police Service Fugitive Squad. The male was placed under arrest on the strength of an immigration warrant and custody was transferred to the Toronto Police Service. The male was currently on Probation for Criminal Harassment, Uttering Threats x3, Carry Concealed Weapon, Failure to Comply with Release and Harassing Phone Calls.^sg

Remember we issued a warning about counterfeit currency? Welp….. 🫤

On June 2nd 2026 officers observed two people exit a motor vehicle who were both on court conditions not to be around eachother. A male and female were placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest was conducted. As a result the following charges have been laid:

Adult male of Saugeen Shores:
1) Failure to comply with Probation x2
2) Possession of a Controlled Substance

Adult female of Saugeen Shores:
1) Failure to comply with Release Order x2
2) Possession of Counterfeit Money
3) Possession of a Controlled Substance

Both people were held for a bail hearing and were released on Release Orders with future court dates.
