Just a reminder that when you can't get a taxi home, calling 911 multiple times is not appropriate. Police took multiple 911 calls from a 23-year-old who became stranded in Saugeen Shores after he failed to plan ahead after a night of drinking.

Police attended and spoke with the individual who did not have any plan in place to get back to his residence (outside of Saugeen Shores). Officers attempted to assist the individual in locating a friend in town with negative results.

As a result of failure to plan ahead, a 23-year-old male , not from the area, was arrested for public intoxication and spent the night with officers. He was released from custody when sober and issued a ticket for public intoxication.

Please plan ahead if you are headed to any festivals or events this weekend. Failure to do so, does not constitute an emergency.

Please call our non-emergency line at 519-832-2500 for assistance instead.

CAN YOU DRIVE GOLF CARTS ON THE ROAD?

Can I drive my golf cart on public roadways?

In Ontario, golf carts are not legally considered “motor vehicles” that meet Highway Traffic Act standards. They are meant to be driven only on private property, such as on a golf course or a private campground.

If you are caught driving a golf cart on a public road, street, or highway in Port Elgin/Southampton you could face hefty fines and charges for driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle, and lacking proper safety equipment.

While the province of Ontario has run limited, municipal pilot programs allowing golf carts on local roads, Saugeen Shores does not participate in this program (yet). ^sg

I know we sound like a broken record at this point but please stop sending intimate photos to strangers on the internet.

Sure, they probably sent you one first. Guess what? That photo isn't them and its most likely a photo they obtained from a previous person that sent them intimate photos.

The information they have given you is most likely all false and their user name is most likely made up. Some apps make it almost impossible to track down who actually owns the account.

If you send intimate photos to strangers they will probably try and extort you for money. Don’t send them money. Please report their account and block them on your devices. They most likely will not send your photos to anyone (It’s used as a scare tactic) and will move on to a new victim once you stop reacting.

Parents please speak with your children. If a child takes, sends or receives an intimate image of a person under the age of 18 they could find themselves being investigated for offences against children.

Take our advice : Don't send the photos.
