May 28 is Menstrual Hygiene Day, a global awareness day dedicated to promoting menstrual health and addressing period poverty. All 17 BCPL Branches offer free menstrual products, allowing individuals to take what they need for themselves or someone else. Through this initiative BCPL is helping to reduce barriers to accessing products in Bruce County.

The Kincardine Branch is displaying 34 traditional jingle dresses, created by the Jingle Dress Sewing Circle, from May 9 to June 6. Jingle dresses are ceremonial dresses richly decorated with rows of metal cones that make a distinctive jingling sound as the dancer moves.
These beautifully crafted dresses will be gifted by Chief Kimberly Bressette, on behalf of the Jingle Dress Sewing Circle, to young girls at Kettle and Stony Point First Nation. All are invited to visit the library and appreciate the artistry and cultural significance of these Jingle Dresses.
