FCM Conference ๐Ÿค | Port Colborne representatives recently attended the 2026 Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Annual Conference and Trade Show in Edmonton, Alberta, joining municipal leaders from across Canada to discuss collaboration, innovation, and building strong and resilient communities.

Held under the theme โ€œBuilding the Future Together,โ€ this yearโ€™s conference marked the 125th anniversary of FCM. Insights and ideas shared throughout the conference will help guide future growth and investment in Port Colborne.

CARDBOARD BOAT RACE ๐Ÿšฃโ€โ™€๏ธ| Crafty captains and creative thinkers โ€“ who's ready for a rematch?

Back by popular demand, the second annual Sugarloaf Marina Cardboard Boat Race returns on Saturday, July 11! Teams of two will race to victory across the lagoon in custom-made vessels crafted entirely from cardboard. Prizes will be awarded for fastest race time, most team spirit, and more.

Important info:

๐Ÿ›Ÿ Boats must be built ahead of time using only cardboard.
๐Ÿ›Ÿ Personal flotation devices are mandatory (provided).
๐Ÿ›Ÿ Only two team members per boat.
๐Ÿ›Ÿ Motorized items, waterproof sealants, and flotation devices are prohibited.
๐Ÿ›Ÿ The crew compartment cannot be enclosed (riders must be able to escape if necessary).

HAVE YOUR SAY ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ| The City of Port Colborne is inviting residents to review and provide feedback on its draft Community Health & Wellness Action Plan, building on extensive community input gathered over the past year.

The draft Action Plan reflects what the City has heard from more than 2,000 survey responses, public sessions, and community conversations over the past year. It outlines a local approach to improving access to care, strengthening services, and supporting long-term health and wellness across Port Colborne. This phase of engagement focuses on confirming priorities, refining proposed actions, and ensuring the plan reflects the needs and experiences of the community.

Residents are encouraged to review the draft Community Health & Wellness Action Plan and share their feedback through a range of engagement opportunities available from May 5 to July 2, 2026.
