Today, the flags at the Ponoka Civic Centre are at half-mast in honour of Firefighters' National Memorial Day.

This day provides Canadians with an opportunity to remember the firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Let us take a moment to commemorate and salute the unwavering commitment and sacrifice of firefighters in communities across the nation.

Ponoka citizens are invited to share their input and ideas as the Town of Ponoka prepares to create a new Recreation and Tourism Strategy.

A new Recreation and Tourism Strategy will help the Town make evidence-based decisions about how changes to recreation and tourism can contribute to Ponoka’s well-being and economic development. The strategy will provide a roadmap for enhancing Ponoka’s role as a destination for visitors and residents focused on recreation and tourism attractions.

Community members can learn more about the Recreation and Tourism Strategy and offer their input by completing a survey in one of two ways:
✅Online at LetsTalkPonoka.ca; and
✅Paper copies are available at the Ponoka Aquaplex, Ponoka Arena Complex and the Town Office on the second floor of the Ponoka Civic Centre.

👉The survey will remain open until Tuesday, September 29 at midnight.

Once public engagement is completed, the Ponoka Recreation and Tourism Strategy will be drafted based on the input received from citizens and will be presented to Ponoka Town Council for review and consideration.

For more information on the Recreation and Tourism Strategy, please visit LetsTalkPonoka.ca.
