Northern Lights Public Schools Social Media Commenting Guideline
Our social media accounts focus on celebrating the many great things happening in our schools, and sharing important information with our communities. While NLPS encourages interaction from platform users, we expect individuals making comments to show respect for fellow users and ensure discussion remains civil, especially since stu
dents may be viewing the content and comments. Repeated disregard for the guidelines may result in the user being blocked from the page. To ensure exchanges that are informative, respectful of diverse viewpoints and lawful, we will not allow comments that are or include:
Off topic. Points unrelated to the purpose and subject of the main post. Personal Attacks. Comments that are abusive, hateful or intended to defame an individual or organization. Complaints, concerns, or confidential information about individual students or employees. Language. Comments including but not limited to: profanity, discriminatory comments, threats, obscenity. Illegal. Laws that govern use of copyright and trade secrets will be followed. Words that constitute a criminal act or solicit others to commit a criminal act. Links to outside websites. Spam. Comments focused on selling a product of service will be hidden. NLPS is not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to the page. Comments posted also do not in any way reflect the opinions or policies of the division. Users participate at their own risk, taking personal responsibility for comments, username and any information they provide.
