On a very warm and sunny day, I attended the
17th Annual Ceremonial Review of RCSCC Invincible. The event was held at our City of Pitt Meadows Heritage Hall and attended by dignitaries, family and friends to celebrate this annual event. The navy cadets performed their marching drills and bands played some stirring march tunes.
Proud parents and guardians, smiling and taking photographs, watching as cadets were awarded with medals, bringing some tears of joy.
Say what you will about our youth, these young cadets exemplified the best in our community. They showed discipline, leadership, team work, civility and respect for their fellow cadets.
Awards also to Commanding Officer, Lieutenant 👎 R. Juliusson, for his decades of service to the cadet program.
My thanks to Mayor Dan Ruimy for sharing a couple of his photos.
A privilege to share the event with our BC RCMP members and fellow Councillors, Mike Manion Pitt Meadows City Councillore Manion Pitt Meadows City Councillor, Mike Hayes City Council City Council
I would like to add a special mention for Lieutenant Colonel Foot CD, Commanding Officer, 39 Service Battalion. Her story is an inspiration. Arriving in Canada as a child, one of the many "Boat People" from Vietnam. I will add her story as a separate post.
A great day to celebrate achievement and to be Pitt Meadows Proud.
