💧❗️WATER BREAK REPAIR- TODAY ❗️💧

Due to the repair of a water break in the area, residents of Church Lane will be without water starting at around 12:30pm today.

🚧🚗 Church Lane will also be closed to traffic. Residents of Church Lane are asked to remove their vehicles from the road should they require them for travel today.

📣Please advise any tenants or those who do not receive emails from the Town of this notice.


Once water is restored, please run your cold water tap in the case of discolouration.

⏰Council Meeting Submission Deadline⏰

Applications, submissions or requests to speak for Town Council Meeting's are to be submitted by 12:00pm on the Thursday before the meeting.

The next upcoming Town Council meeting (Tuesday, September 8th) would require submission to be in to the Town Office by the Thursday, September 3 at 12:00pm.

RESIDENT REMINDER❗️

This is a reminder that pets are not permitted to roam freely in Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove. The Town has received complaints of pets, particularly cats, roaming freely.

Residents are required to keep pets inside or always tethered while outside. Please be respectful of your neighbours, as roaming pets can cause damage to property and can cause stress to other animals and people in the community.

The Town thanks all residents for their cooperation in this matter.

❗️Culvert Road Work - Main Road ❗️

The Town is aware of concerns regarding the removal of guard rails along the shoreline side of Main Road through Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove, with no temporary barrier replacement, during the required road work.

The Town has reached out to Transportation & Infrastructure, as well as our local MHA to voice these concerns.

🚧 Residents and visitors to our community are asked to use additional caution.

⚠️ Please reduce speed and be aware in these areas.

August 24th 2026 Council Meeting Highlights

- Council discussed resources/options available for Old Maddox Cove Road; Developer was provided 2 weeks to have the road restored

- Council will look into legal obligations for next steps in removing the abandoned car from the Rec Centre as local tow impound lots are full

- Application A2026-88 for a gate installation at 11 Cribbies Road was approved

- Application A2026-83 for an approval in principle to build at 13 Big Hill Road was denied

- Approval in Principles for Motion Bay Road Extension (Gravel portion) were rescinded

- Council motioned for the following work for Motion Bay Road Extension (Gravel Portion);
* Complete a title search for the Motion Bay Road Extension (Gravel Portion) road area, as well as the area know as Pancake
*Council will develop a minimum roads standard policy, that accounts for one way / gravel roads
*Council will source quotes for an assessment of Motion Bay Road Extension (Gravel Portion) to determine requirements for area development (width, depths, guard rails, etc)

-Council in conjunction with Recreation will form a sub committee under Recreation for 2027 Petty Harbour Maddox Cove Days for initial fundraising for Maddox Cove Playground

- Council approved a business card ad donation to the Royal Canadian Legion
