During Pride Month and every month, EFry believes 2SLGBTQIA+ community members deserve safety, dignity, and belonging every day.

Our rainbow stairs are more than just paint. They are a visible commitment that everyone who walks through our doors is entering a space where they are welcomed, respected, and safe to be themselves.

This is one of many ways we are working to show that inclusion is built into our environment and our practice.

We know that symbols matter, but they’re only the beginning. We remain committed to ongoing learning, allyship, and creating spaces where people don’t have to question whether they belong.

Happy Pride Month 🌈

June is Pride Month. A time to celebrate the strength, diversity, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, while also reflecting on the ongoing work toward equity, safety, and belonging for all.

Pride began as a movement for rights, dignity, and visibility, and it continues to be both a celebration and a call to action. It’s about honouring the history of advocacy, recognizing the resilience of q***r and trans communities, and reaffirming our commitment to inclusion in our workplaces and communities.

We know that Pride can mean different things to different people, including celebration, remembrance, joy, and reflection. However you observe it, this month is an opportunity to listen, learn, and show up with respect and care. To our team members and community members who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+, we celebrate you and the many ways you enrich our organization and our community.

Your voices, experiences, and leadership matter.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island.

It’s also a time for all to reflect on the ongoing impacts of colonization, and to continue learning about truth, reconciliation, and Indigenous resilience.

At EFry, we encourage everyone to take time this month to learn from Indigenous voices, stories, and knowledge, and to reflect on how we each play a role in reconciliation.

Elizabeth Fry Week reminds us that criminalization is not inevitable, it is shaped by choices, systems, and responses.

If we see the root, we can change the response.

And when we change the response, we change lives.

Let’s continue building systems rooted in care, prevention, and justice.
