This is the peterborogh community. 👏

Last night was invited to join the for their monthly meeting. We set up a table for donations and were blown away by the women’s generosity.

These leaders in our community showed exactly what it is to show up for all community members and participate in mutual aid right here in our home.

Mutual aid is a form of solidarity-based, grassroots community organizing where people voluntarily share resources and skills to meet immediate needs. Solidarity not charity. ❤️

As shared in her speech last night, Peterborough is a diamond in the rough. We have so many people that want to improve the city in so may meaningful, inclusive and equitable ways.

As temperatures drop, our neighbours experiencing homelessness or financial hardship need our help more than ever. The Personal Care Bank is collecting essential winter items to keep our community warm and healthy.

Most needed right now:
🧦 New socks
🔥 Hand & foot warmers
💋 Lip balm / chapstick
🧴 Hand & body lotion
🤧 Tissues & cough drops

We Need Your Help Peterborough!

As a way to keep the banks stocked regularly for our community, we have to be able to accept financial donations from community members and businesses that want to contribute to the Personal Care Banks. This would allow us to bulk order items for the banks to consistently have the banks running.

This raises a few questions for us in terms of how to accept money, tax provisions and charitable/volunteer/NFP status.
