The Small Business Advisory Centre delivered a seminar at the Perth Campus this week on the topic of cash flow management. "Cash Rules" was presented by Michael Di Lauro, CPA/CMA, who provided insightful strategies in managing cash flow and the importance of businesses having a "rainy day fund." The seminar was attended by the Office Administration - Executive and Business Management & Entrepreneurship students.

Thank you to the Office Administration - Executive class for their participation in the June 7 Torch Run! At this event the students presented the Perth District Special Olympics with a cheque for $2,141, which was the total funds raised by the class as a result of their community project event. As well as cheering on the athletes as they arrived at the campus, the students thanked the community and local businesses for all their support.

At the conclusion of the ‘80s Dinner-Dance fundraising event hosted by this year’s Office Administration-Executive class, over $2,000 was raised for the Perth District Special Olympics. Funds raised will support this inspiring non-profit community group who organize and facilitate sporting activities that help to build an inclusive community. There was good food, music and dance, with special guest speakers from the Special Olympics making this a fun-filled evening for all those in attendance. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to all those community sponsors who helped make this event a success.

Offering six sport activities throughout the year in bowling, softball, soccer, swimming, snowshoeing and basketball—Perth District Special Olympics Terry Fox has been helping to bring awareness and build an inclusive society right here in our local community. Terry dropped by the Perth campus to express his thanks to the Office Administration-Executive students for choosing the local Special Olympics as this year’s recipient of their community fundraising event—Saturday, April 7—Back to the 80s Dinner-Dance.
