way' PIB & snpink'tn lots of rain today and lots of trash. Fairview bridge a mess, Green Ave bridge empties, end of the channel needles and glass pipes. 3 shopping carts one bike as well, bike went to PDSCL.
Watched a bird harassing a Bald eagle, Shingle creek is up after the rains.
The land at the end of Okanagan ave is doing so well with nobody in there after all those camps we removed last year. Ellis creek sure got dirty as well.

way' PIB & snpink'tn starting today off with ms fuzzy bum from yesterday, they moved on which is good. Trash along the channel and at the end including 2 floaties. I pulled up and asked AIM if I could park at the Warren Ave detour and grab the trash out of the river, he was super cool about it. With trash there is beauty as there are poppies growing there, kinda cool. Wish I could have walked the channel parkway and do a trash pickup while it was shut down today.
Somebody dumping their dirt out by the old highway, foreign dirt may have invasives in it, take your dirt to the land fill.
Owls are doing great, one more egg so we are at 23 now! Its a sea of blue up there with all the lupine. I went to SORCO and picked up more food for them today, lim limpt Lauren Meads. There are 2 Great Horned owls in rehab there, both are doing great!

way' PIB & snpink'tn well it was shopping cart Tuesday, dumped in the bushes, along the roads, 3 picked up and returned to their owners. Got some trash as well along the channel and Green Mtn rd. Drove to Summerland and Shingle creek, light rain that way. skem'xest bear out on Marron Valley checking Starz and me out. sin'kyp, coyote bothering a male Pheasant, fun to watch as well a couple of sla'cheena, deer in the cottonwoods. Sure smells good with all the roses in bloom.

way' PIB & snpink'tn the channel looked good, a few cans was all. There is a small sink hole under the Green Ave bridge, this will be addressed quickly. Found a brand new pair of shoes, I will donate them somewhere tomorrow.
Went up and fed the owls, 21 eggs now, all warm so thats great news. Later in June they should be hatching.
Watched an Osprey catch a fish today, very cool. Found a lone asparagus which was a nice treat. Pretty quiet day overall.

way' PIB & snpink'tn today I got the mess picked up by Westhills Aggregates, rude people. Speaking of which there was a white van parked on Green Mtn rd who was going number 2 in the bushes. I confronted him, asked him to do that on his own land, pretty gross.
A bunch of tires in the lower village picked up. Went out to Summerland checked around, found an old antler and the ant pile at speetlum flats is busy. Moved a Gopher snake off the channel and saw a big family of geese.

way' PIB & snpink'tn found a mess on the south end of the channel then found campers on skaha beach again. Will need to trim the trees down there to open it up a bit.
Went up and fed the owls, egg count is now 20, more the better! All is well up there.
Junk car will be picked up by a band member and hauled away from Marron Valley rd, its been there over a week.
Moved a dead deer further into the bush near the scales, birds and bear have been on it. Prayers for her. A suspicious truck on Green Mtn rd, apparently their battery died but was running when I spoke to them, they moved along.

way' PIB & snpink'tn the river channel had one camper who moved along, very clean very nice person. Picked up a little trash here and there which is the new normal.
Decided to do something a bit different as all was well around the rez and snpink'tn and did a hike up to McIntyre Bluff. I brought along a bag for any trash but none was found to speak of. Its a 4.5 hr hike starting in WillowBrooke lots of elevation gain, Rattle Snake lake, big Cotton Woods, huge Fir and Pine. The views are spectacular.
Bring $5.00 to donate, lots of water, a hiking stick and good foot wear, highly recommend this.

way' PIB & snpink'tn long weekend over and back to the grind. Went up and pulled down the electric fence and netting. Egg count in 3 dens is 19, pretty exciting.
Drove out on Shingle creek to Summerland picked up trash along the way. Loaded up on spring water at the spring by trout creek.
At noon our Biologist Gemma and myself met up with Pen High students. We spoke of the wet land and bat condo on the oxbow. Great bunch of young grade 12'ers.
Rest of the day I patrolled the upper and lower villages and channel.

way' PIB & snpink'tn well my day started out pretty rough. Just drove the river channel and I get a call about a deer hit by the KVR bridge. Truck ran it over and dragged it for a little ways and kept going! My friend saw it happen. Well it was on the East side of the road and I put it down, very badly banged up. Prayers and put onto the land.
Needed to clear the mind and hit the back country, checked on the ice cavern on Trout creek, no ice. Last year this time there was ice in it so that tells me it was a warm winter. Still cold in there, just no ice.
Saw a very big black skem'xist on speetlum flats and a golden eagle soaring, so nice to see. skem'xist is bear.
Spoke to a person with a motorhome who was on the land to move to a more appropriate spot, he was cool about it.
End of the day find about a dozen chickens dumped along Old Airport rd, no idea what thats about but pretty horrible.

way' PIB & snpink'tn missed yesterday's post. We spent a long time looking for a foal hit and laying on the side of the road. Hope it was a wild goose chase. With help from our FN RCMP we picked up a dead deer on Green Mtn rd, sent him off with his ancestors.
Went up and fed the owls, 16 eggs total now. Little guy still flying around and hunting. Old bear track walked past the site.
Wrecked car on Marron Valley rd. Got a long distance photo of the new lamb at the sheep pens.
We added some strength and support to the bat condo on the river channel oxbow south of Nissan, stronger now. One photo has a deer standing in it, see if you can spot it.
Campers on Skaha are moving, lim limpt.
