This week ELA10 students are learning firsthand and how to be eatery and film critics.

First, they listened to a podcast & received advice from a famous, former, local professional food critic, John Gilchrist.

Second, visited a local eatery for an amazing lunch and made observation notes incognito during their entire restaurant visit. (And was even served by a PenX alumni.)

Third, attended three "theatres" and recorded examples and evidence to critique during the film. (While their teacher severed them popcorn and cleaned aisles as an employee of Penhold Crossing Cinemas.)

Forth, over the next two class periods they will put their observations and experiences into review podcasts.

You never know, one might be inspired to become a profession critic in the future.

Our Ford Family Scholarship recipients had the wonderful opportunity to meet with Mr. and Mrs. Ford yesterday. Each year, Stewart and Eileen Ford generously support our students' post-secondary education through the Ford Family Scholarship.

Students must apply and meet specific eligibility criteria to be considered, and each recipient is awarded $10,000 toward their post-secondary tuition.

Thank you to Stewart and Eileen Ford for your continued generosity and investment in our students' futures. Congratulations to this year's scholarship recipients on this outstanding achievement!

Penhold Crossing has an upcoming Casino, our biggest fundraising effort in the next few years. Typically around $30,000 is generated from this two day event. There are 18 positions that need to be filled over these two days, in order to make this event a success.

What a great day! Grad 2026 was a huge success and everyone looked amazing! We are so proud of our graduates!

It's that time! Every year we do a Grad Walk, and our graduates walk the halls of all three schools! Yesterday, the grads started in their own halls, then moved on to Jessie Duncan where students had signs of congratulations ready for them, and then to PWMS. Although those halls are new to these students, the faces were familar! Lots of hugs and high fives. 😍
