Our Board offers a full range of academic programs in a caring and nurturing environment that encourages our students to achieve their personal best, while sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in their daily lives. Located in Eastern Ontario, 100 kilometres northwest of Ottawa, RCCDSB covers a largely rural area with a low population density. We have 21 schools in 14 communities, providing educat
ion for more than 4700 students. Our multi-year strategic plan is aligned with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s four key goals—to achieve excellence, ensure equity, promote well-being and enhance public confidence. We are dedicated to supporting our students’ academic success by providing extensive professional development, the latest in e-learning classroom technologies, as well as innovative special education and alternative learning programs that are based on best practices that respond to students’ specific needs. As well, we are pleased to report that our students have consistently outscored the provincial average in Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) testing. Everyone in our Board—from school trustees to administrators, principals, teachers and support staff—works as a team to provide a safe, caring and respectful environment to support student success, close gaps in individual learning and increase public confidence in our school system. We encourage the input and involvement of our parents, families, parishioners and clergy, as well as members of the greater community in our education system. We work hard to make our Board relevant and responsive to the needs of our community.
