Renfrew County District School Board The organizing board for 22 elementary schools and seven secondary schools situated in the north-eastern region of Ontario.

The Renfrew County District School Board serves approximately 10,000 public school students and their families in Renfrew County - the heart of the Ottawa Valley. We are bounded by the Ottawa River on the east, Algonquin Park on the west, our southern-most schools are located in Arnprior and our northern-most school is in Deep River. In addition we have adult high schools and Programs for Alternat

ive Learning (PAL) for adolescents in four separate communities including Arnprior, Renfrew, Pembroke and Barry's Bay.

Here’s what was inside the time capsule discovered at Arnprior District High School. Staff and students buried it back in 2000-01, and digging it out from under a huge stone was no small task.

The first day of school at Eganville and District Public School was full of hugs, high fives and big smiles.

Parents said goodbye with one more kiss. Friends reunited and walked in together. Teachers and EAs greeted every student at the door, and the principal and vice-principal were right there helping kids off the bus and cars.

By the end of the day, students were colouring, playing and just having fun getting to know their new classroom.

None of this happens on its own. Our educators and educational assistants spent hours planning, decorating and preparing before students ever walked through the door. These are two beautiful classrooms at Eganville and District Public School!

Welcome back to a brand-new school year! 🎒✨

As we gear up for a year full of learning, we want to make sure every student feels supported, valued, and ready to succeed. While academics and sports are great, building a kind and welcoming community is what matters most.

Parents, please take a moment to read and share this message with your kids before they head into class:

A Message for Our Students:
Some kids may be smarter than you.
Some kids may have cooler clothes than you.
Some kids may be better at sports than you.
It doesn’t matter. You have YOUR thing, too.

As you walk through the school doors this year, remember:
🤝 Be the kid who can get along. Reach out to someone new or invite them to sit with you.
🤲 Be the kid who is generous. Share your supplies, your help, and your time.
👏 Be the kid who is happy for other people. Celebrate your classmates’ wins!
⭐ Be the kid who does the right thing. Choose kindness and honesty—even when no one is watching.
