Nichole: "I would like to nominate my Nurse during labour (Nicole) and the Nurse that supported me during post partum, Patricia that I had when I delivered my son back in June. Nicole made one of the most stressful and scary times so calm, peaceful and relaxing. My labour experience went way better than I could have imagined, and I cannot thank her enough for all her support and encouragement during this time. You never truly forget the ones who held your hand through the most difficult yet beautiful moments of your life. When I was in my most vulnerable state, she made me feel so special and cared for. Thank you a million. I will never forget you and I will forever be grateful for your compassion during that night. Patricia was not my assigned Nurse but she had made an effort to come check on me anyways and introduce herself the night after I had my baby. She immediately sat down in my room and talked me through so much that I had weighing on my chest and eased my nerves tremendously. She stood at my bedside and listened attentively to all my concerns, thoughts, emotions, etc and just let me vent until I felt better. She answered every question with such love in her heart and made the first night after having my baby a breeze. She checked in multiple times and never let us feel alone or scared. I felt so relieved and safe knowing she was there for us. Looking back at my delivery and stay at PRH, I could not have asked for anyone better to care for me and my baby during this time. Andrea’s advocacy and exceptional postpartum care ensured that I felt heard, respected, and well supported throughout my recovery. Each of these healthcare professionals consistently exceeded expectations. They took the time to listen, answer questions, provide encouragement, and advocate for my needs.
