The third intake of the Rural Ontario Development (ROD) Program is now open. This program supports the objectives of Enabling Opportunity: Ontario’s Rural Economic Development Strategy.

The ROD Program provides cost-share funding for projects that help rural communities:
-address barriers and build capacity for economic development
-to attract, retain and expand businesses
-attract and retain investment and jobs
-strengthen regional partnerships and economic resilience
-address workforce development challenges
-transform community assets to drive economic development

Application deadline October 1, 2026, at 5 p.m. E.T.

The Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF) is now open for applications. The CSRIF is a $500 million program that provides funding to municipalities, Indigenous communities, non-profit organizations and (for new builds only) for-profit organizations through two program streams for projects that:

repair or upgrade existing sport and recreation facilities (Stream 1)
build new and transformative sport and recreation facilities (Stream 2)

Application intake is now open. You must apply by Tuesday, December 22, 2026, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.
