💛 Learn the Skills to Help Save a Life

Would you know what to do if someone you care about was struggling with thoughts of su***de?

We are inviting community members, volunteers, professionals, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more to take part in A.S.I.S.T. (Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training) — a two-day, evidence-informed su***de prevention training designed to help participants recognize the signs of su***de risk, build confidence in having safe conversations, and learn how to support someone in crisis.

📅 Date: September 28 & 29th, 2026
📍 Location: Northern Lakes College (Room 109)
⏰ Time: 8:30am - 4:30pm (both days)
💲 Cost: $75.0

This training is about more than learning what to say — it’s about building the skills and confidence to connect, listen, and support someone when they need it most.

Guests are invited to view local artwork, connect with community members, and learn more about available Addiction Services. Refreshments will be provided.

This event is an opportunity to come together as a community to honor, remember, support, and inspire hope. Through art, reflection, and connection, we will recognize the lives impacted by substance use and overdose while promoting awareness, healing, and compassion.

The Otipemisiwak Métis Student Association is giving away free Mental Health Kits to support student wellness, filled with goodies for a mental health boost 🧠

Eligibility requirements:

+ You must be a registered member of the Otipemisiwak Métis Student Association
+ You must be a current student enrolled in post-secondary

Kits can be picked up in person at our Edmonton or Calgary office or at one of the stops our Mobile Métis Employment Centre (RV) makes.

Little Bellies Need Your Help!

Our shelter is currently completely out of kitten and puppy food, and we desperately need your help.

These tiny babies depend on us for every meal, every bit of care, and every bit of comfort they receive while waiting for their forever homes. Nobody should have to know the feeling of a hungry belly, especially these little ones!

We’ve included our preferred food brands on the poster. These foods are gentle on young, sensitive tummies and help keep our kittens and puppies happy, healthy, and growing strong.

If you’re able to donate, just ONE bag can make a big difference! Every donation over $25 qualifies for a tax receipt! Just bring your receipt with you!

Please help us fill their bowls and keep those little tails wagging and purrs going!
