We're trying something new! Join us for our brand new Art Club initiative at the McKellar Township Public Library. This pilot program will run throughout the summer on the 4th and 5th Tuesdays of each month, from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, giving participants the opportunity to explore their artistic side in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or just getting started, the Art Club is designed for everyone. Each session will include guided drawing lessons to help participants develop their skills, along with dedicated social time to connect, share ideas, and enjoy the creative process together.

This program is being offered as a pilot initiative to gauge community interest, and we encourage anyone with a curiosity or passion for art to come out and take part. Our goal is to foster a vibrant, inclusive space where creativity thrives and artists—both seasoned and aspiring—can gather, learn, and grow.

On May 14, people across Canada will come together to recognize Moose Hide Campaign Day—a day dedicated to standing up against violence toward women, children, and all those along the gender continuum.

This important day invites everyone to reflect, learn, and take meaningful steps toward ending gender‑based violence and supporting reconciliation.
While we don’t have a local event in our community this year, we welcome you to join the national livestream or workshops online.

What an amazing Turtle Protectors workshop today! Thanks to Nicole, Kayla & Sophia of Georgian Bay Biosphere - GBB for teaching kids all about turtles, playing some fun turtle games, and helping each family build their very own turtle nest protector. Big thanks to special guest snapping turtle "Mickey" who was the star of the show! Very educational and loads of fun!
