🅿️ Paris Parking Lot Line Painting Notice

📍 Where is line marking happening?
Municipal parking lots in the downtown core. The County will retrace yellow centre lines and arrows in downtown municipal parking lots.

📅 When:
Night work will take place Monday, September 7, 2026, and Tuesday, September 8, 2026, weather permitting.

Why:
The County of Brant retraces pavement markings annually to improve visibility for road users.

🚧 Changes during the line painting and marking period:

Intersection impacts: Cones will be placed to mark fresh paint and block parking lot entrances.

Road impacts: No impacts. All work will take place within municipal parking lots.

Parking: Parking areas will be closed while parking stalls are being painted.

Access: Access to personal driveways, services and amenities will be maintained.

💧 Paint removal:
Should you get paint on your vehicle, wash it immediately with hot water and household cleaning products. The paint used is water-based.

🚧 Brant, we are entering the final stages of the Downtown Dig (Grand River St N phase), with completion expected in October 2026!

📣 A few important reminders:

The Promenade will be decommissioned on September 14 so the finishing touches can happen on Grand River St N. Thank you to everyone who enjoyed this fun space!

🇨🇦 A Veterans’ Crosswalk will be installed on Grand River St N, near Mechanic St, to honour the Royal Canadian Legion’s 100th anniversary.

❤️ Businesses continue to need your support! Please shop and support local!
The County will pause the next phase of the Downtown Dig for 2027. The next phase includes Mechanic St, Broadway St and William St. More information will be shared as new plans are confirmed.

The Dig has made major strides, and we are in the homestretch!

✅ Completed Milestones

- 100% Complete: All watermain work
- 100% Complete: Sanitary sewer installation
- 100% Complete: Siphon work and lining
- Infrastructure: Streetlight and traffic signal conduits complete
- Concrete: West-side sidewalk installed on Grand River St N
- Concrete: Curb and gutter placed, except William Street Bridge tie-ins

🔨 In Progress and Remaining Tasks

• Siphon: Internal work on the downstream chamber
• Utilities: Six remaining hydro tap box adjustments; two complete

📅 Upcoming Schedule and Next Steps

🌳 Streetscape and Amenities
• Fill planter boxes with topsoil
• Install benches and bike racks
• Erect traffic signal poles and equipment
• Install all streetlights
• Pour remaining sidewalk and curb sections

⚡ Electrical and Utilities
• Decommission GrandBridge vault on William Street
• Complete GrandBridge service connections to buildings and businesses, along with remaining hydro work

Big steps are happening right outside St. George’s public school! 🚧

We are thrilled to share that a brand-new sidewalk is being installed to help connect our community and keep our kids safe (on the west side of College Street between Church Avenue to Beverly Street West).

Whether it is the morning bell rush, an afternoon stroll, or biking to a friend's house, this new path means a safer, smoother, and more connected route for everyone in town.

We are building a more walkable St. George, one safe step at a time. Keep an eye out for the construction crew as they finish up and get ready to lace up those sneakers!
