📣Here’s a quick update on what was discussed at the June 2, 2026 Public Council Meeting:
🖋Proclamations
Council recognized several important observances:
• Pride Month 🏳️🌈
• Recreation Month 🚴♀️⛹️
• Spinal CSF Leak Awareness Week (June 1–7) 🔬— raising awareness about a debilitating neurological condition caused by cerebrospinal fluid leaks.
🧾 Contracts & Capital Projects
✅ The Town accepted the 20272031 Multi-Year Capital Works program and policy.
✅ Approved additional geotechnical investigation work for the St. Thomas Line Wastewater Treatment Plant.
✅ Awarded the supply of hot mix asphalt to Farrell’s Excavating Ltd. for $88,233.75 (HST included).
🚧 Kenmount Road Project Update:
Council approved a change order of $611,354.64 (HST included) to Modern Paving Limited to extend Phase 1 by an additional 143 metres.
📦 Supply & Inventory
Approved the purchase of 150 carbide cutting edges from Western Hydraulics 2000 for the 2026–2027 winter season, totaling $113,677.50 (including HST and shipping)
🏡 Permits & Applications
✅ Ratified the decision to waive sewer connection fees for 18 Archibald Drive
✅ Approved an application to construct an accessory building at 19 Halliburton Street, with 13 conditions.
