🚒 A Busy Week for Our Tri-Fire Services 🚒
This past week, firefighters from our Tri-Fire Services responded to seven field and farm machinery fires across our communities.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our firefighters who answered the call day and night, often in challenging conditions.
We would also like to recognize and thank our local farmers and agricultural partners. Your quick reporting, cooperation on scene, and assistance with equipment, played an important role in helping bring these incidents under control. We appreciate the hard work you put in every day to feed our communities, especially during the demanding harvest season.
☀️ Hot Weather Harvest Safety Tip ☀️
With dry conditions and high temperatures, farm machinery can quickly become an ignition source. To help reduce the risk of field and equipment fires:
✅ Regularly clean combines, balers, tractors, and other equipment to remove dust, chaff, and crop debris.
✅ Check bearings, belts, and moving parts for overheating or excessive wear.
✅ Keep a charged fire extinguisher readily available on all equipment.
✅ Consider carrying a water tank or tillage equipment nearby during harvest operations.
✅ Inspect equipment frequently throughout the day, especially during peak afternoon heat.
