Last week the little babies, with a little help from their moms, created these beautiful Father’s Day keepsake plates to celebrate the special dads, grandpas, and father figures in their lives.
While the babies explored paint, colours, and textures, they were also building early sensory and fine motor skills. Most importantly, they helped create a heartfelt gift filled with love that their families can cherish for years to come.
We hope all the dads had a wonderful Father’s Day and enjoy this special keepsake made with tiny hands/feet and big love. 💙

🦅🧡 Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! 🧡🦅

Today, we celebrate and honour the rich cultures, traditions, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island.

National Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and recognize the strength, resilience, and beauty of Indigenous communities—past, present, and future.

At EarlyON, we are grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside children and families through Indigenous teachings, stories, culture, and connection to the land. By sharing knowledge and fostering understanding, we help build a future rooted in respect, reconciliation, and community.

We encourage everyone to take time today to learn about the Indigenous Peoples whose traditional territories you live on, listen to Indigenous voices, and celebrate the diverse cultures that continue to thrive across Canada.

We were honoured to be part of the 15th Annual One World Festival on Wednesday! Our EarlyON table was busy all day as children created their own wooden medallion necklaces, each representing one of the Seven Grandfather Teachings: Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, Humility, and Truth.

It was wonderful to see children and families learning about these important teachings while expressing their creativity through art. The smiles, conversations, and beautiful necklaces created throughout the day made the event truly special.

We were thrilled to welcome over 300 children to our table and are grateful to everyone who stopped by to participate. Thank you to the festival organizers, volunteers, and families for making this such a meaningful community event.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Park Play at Sarawak Beach!

What a wonderful day exploring all that the beach has to offer! Today, children enjoyed a variety of hands-on experiences that supported their learning, development, and connection with nature.

🌊 Putting their feet in the water helped children explore different sensations while building body awareness and confidence.

🏖️ Burying their feet in the sand and playing in the sand encouraged creativity, sensory exploration, and fine motor development as they dug, and played.

🐚 Finding shells and crayfish sparked curiosity and discovery, helping children learn about the natural world through observation and exploration.

🪨 Climbing rocks challenged children’s balance, coordination, problem-solving skills, and risk assessment in a safe and supportive environment.

💦 Skipping rocks provided opportunities to practice hand-eye coordination, concentration, and perseverance while having fun.

🛝 Playing on the playground helped strengthen gross motor skills, build confidence, and encourage social interactions with peers.

⛵Spotting boats and seagulls on the water encouraged children to observe their surroundings, ask questions, and connect with the world around them.

Outdoor play offers endless opportunities for learning through exploration, movement, and discovery. Thank you to all the families who joined us for a beautiful day of adventure, connection, and fun at Sarawak Beach!

We hope to see you at our next Park Play on Tuesday, June 23 at Bayshore Park! Come join us for another morning of outdoor fun, exploration, and connection with nature and other families.

🐟🌿 Today's Make & Take was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect and create!
The adults had fun making adorable stick fish using sticks, glue, and twine while the children enjoyed each other's company through play and social interaction.
It was a great way to spend time together, spark creativity, and build connections within our EarlyON community. Thank you to everyone who joined us today—we loved seeing all of your unique creations! 🐠✨
