♻️ One person’s clutter is another person’s treasure!

The final Goods Exchange Day of 2026 is happening on Saturday, September 19. Set out unwanted but usable items at the curb after 8 a.m. and explore neighbourhoods to discover pre-loved treasures looking for a new home.

From furniture and tools to books, toys, sporting goods, and small appliances, Goods Exchange Day helps keep reusable items out of the landfill while giving them a second life.

✅ Tie a white plastic bag to an item so others know it’s available for pickup.
✅ Bring any unclaimed items back inside by 6 p.m.
✅ Drive carefully, watch for pedestrians, and obey traffic laws while treasure hunting.

Let's address the smell.

Recent odours near the wastewater treatment plant are due to scheduled maintenance.

The odour is a normal part of the process, but we know it's far from pleasant.

The good news? We're on track to have the work complete by September 20. This maintenance helps ensure one of the City's most important pieces of infrastructure continues operating as intended.

Weaver’s Creek is officially reopened, welcoming residents and visitors back to one of Owen Sound’s treasured natural spaces. From quiet walks to discovering wildlife along the water’s edge, there’s plenty to explore once again.

The Leaf and Yard Waste Composting Facility (2450 28th Ave. E.) will be closed September 14 to 18 for annual wood grinding operations and is expected to reopen September 19 at 8:30 a.m.
