A Winter Storm warning is in effect. We are seasoned veterans, so this is nothing new – but it’s the first major snowfall of the season. A couple of helpful reminders:

1. If you must travel, give yourself plenty of time to get to and from your destination.
2. Ensure your vehicle is entirely cleared of snow prior to driving.
3. Winter parking is in effect. Don't park on the street overnight.
4. The City’s Winter Maintenance Program, including a FAQ section is available online (spoiler: the plow does not wait until you’ve just finished clearing your driveway to come down your street) http://ow.ly/Erub50Cyh9f.
5. Check in on elderly friends, neighbours and relatives. Take care of one another.

With times being uncertain I have called the government to see if we are considered essential. The gentleman I spoke to assured me I was considered essential under the guidelines in section 20, we are considered essential under maintenance. “Maintenance, repair and property management services strictly necessary to manage and maintain the safety, security, sanitation and essential operation of institutional, commercial, industrial and residential properties and buildings”. With that being said we will be working and following the strict guidelines of social distancing. Any payments for work done can be paid through e-transfer to avoid personal contact. Stay safe everyone!!

Don’t forget to check your vents!!

A friendly reminder to check your exterior venting after this heavy snowfall. A buildup of snow against your vents is a serious health and fire risk.
