Brett Parnell
Faculty of Public A

ffairs, Department Political Science
E-Mail: [email protected]

Brett is a fourth year student Political Science major (Canadian Politics) with a minor in law. After first year, he transferred to Carleton from the University of Toronto and has never looked back. In 2013-2014, Brett was elected as a political science representative on the Carleton Academic Student Government. He has also served on over ten CUSA committees. Outside of student politics, Brett is also an active member of two political clubs, the Carleton Commonwealth Student Association and the Carleton Equal Voice Chapter . He will also be volunteered as a facilitator for Join the Conspiracy (frosh week) in September. While away from campus, Brett loves to travel the world. He has visited cities across the US, Mexico, England, Germany, and Italy. He is also currently planning to live in Australia and the United Kingdom following graduation. Brett can usually be found on campus either in class, at CUSA functions, or at Oliver's Pub & Patio on Thursday nights and when his beloved Liverpool Football Club is playing in the UEFA Champions League. Jessica Mullin
Faculty of Public Affairs, Department of Law and Legal Studies
E-Mail: [email protected]

Jessica is a fourth year Law and Legal Studies student. Since coming to Carleton she has held the positions of PASS Facilitator, Residence Fellow and Teaching Assistant. Currently she is also appointed as a Undergraduate Student Representative to the Senate's Student Academic Integrity Appeals Committee (SAIAC). As a Teaching Assistant, Jessica is currently working with LAWS1000C for the third time, and has also worked with LAWS2302 in the past. It was also for LAWS1000C that Jessica was a PASS Facilitator during the 2012-2013 school year. Through working with the Department of Legal Studies, Jessica has gained a better understanding of the Faculty of Public Affairs and its workings. Jessica is also a Sister of Kappa Delta Beta sorority, and holds the position of Standards Chair. She loves the networking opportunities which have been afforded to her since becoming a member, both with fellow FPA students and others. In addition to this, her extra-curricular's extend to being the President and founder of the Carleton Reproductive Justice Coalition, a new organization on campus seeking to create dialogue about reproductive health at Carleton. After this year Jessica hopes to start a MA in socio-legal studies, but for now is focused on her undergraduate studies, her extra-curricular's and role as an FPA CUSA Councillor. Always feel free to send her a message here and beyond if you have any questions! Daniel Crich

What you would like to achieve on council: I would like to increase accessibility on campus, work towards more FPA recognition such as an FPA week or gala, and create a CUSA calendar of events.

What is something fun you are doing this summer: I am leaving Canada for a month to go to Israel, Budapest, Berlin, Paris, Normandy, London, Dublin, Manchester, Liverpool, and Vimy Ridge.
Why you ran for CUSA Council: I'm the only councillor who was re-elected for Public Affairs this year. Last year CUSA made great advancements towards my point of improving our ancillary fee structure, and I believe I have a lot more to offer to finish what we started.
What you hope to achieve on council: I want to improve accountability with our ancillary fees and make sure students in 2015 get to decide what they want to pay for, along with continuing with the great events, Carleton focused campaigns, and improved services we have seen in the past 3 years.

Please message or e-mail me if you want to bring anything to CUSA, and I can't wait to see you all at Frosh, where team 3 will obviously be the best.
