Carleton Political Forum The CPF will help develop an understanding of important political issues in the Canadian Government for Students associated with Carleton University.

The CPF will help develop an understanding of important political issues in the Canadian Government. The purpose of a democracy is so that the Canadian population can have a say, and in the CPF we wish to develop the student body’s knowledge and support of the important issues that are occurring in Canada daily. With the CPF acting in a non-judgmental manner to help spread knowledge of political i

ssues to Carleton students, it will help bring up more young voters in Ottawa and also in time, the entire country. This organizations purpose is to have a safe environment for groups of students that believe in different ideas, to debate their political opinions so that we as a club can submit the decisions made after debates to Parliament as demands. Demands are when a group of people come together to ask the government for action on an issue, this demand is submitted to the government, which then ultimately is discussed and a decision on the issue will be returned to the organization and public. The CPF will hold debates between its members in a structured manner, (See Section III for explanation on Structure) and at the end of each year, submit the ideas to Parliament.
