There are 12 species of whales in the Bay of Fundy, but they could soon be threatened by almost 300 additional oil tankers per year. We can't let that happen.

Free tonight? Interested in learning a little more about the power of trees? Then check out this event at the Lansdowne Horticulture building tonight at 6:30!

Join us for an evening of remarkable short films about the power of trees on Tuesday, October 6 from 6:30- 9:30pm in the Horticulture Building at Landsdowne Park as part of Tree Fest Ottawa.

We will hear from guest speaker Diana Beresford-Kroeger, a renowned botanist, biochemist and author. Tree Ottawa will be on site, short films will be shown, and food and drinks will be available. Please come out, be inspired and show your support!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: The fossil fuel divestment movement has exploded -- growing 50-fold in just one year. 430 institutions across 43 countries, managing assets worth $2.6 trillion have committed to divest from fossil fuels.

These commitments include governments and investors from multiple sectors, including pension funds, health, education, philanthropy, faith, entertainment, climate justice and municipalities.
