Evidence Based Facts

• We recruited seven family physicians, from the Ottawa region, willing to accept Veterans and military families as new patients.

• As a result of the success from our first event in Ottawa, and with the support of the University of Ottawa, we have successfully produced nine podcasts. They were distributed to 18 Canadian universities and military and civilian medical personnel. These will be included in the military Medical Officers training.

• I have successfully obtained the podcasts to be accredited by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). The podcasts were distributed in November 2023 to all 31 countries and members of NATO. I have received a recognition from Major-General Dr. Marc Bilodeau, Surgeon General of Canada and from Dr. Clare Liddy, Full Professor and Chair Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa.

Pay Day,
This is our pleasure to send you the link to the final version of the podcasts that Veterans Task Force (Ottawa) and the University of Ottawa have jointly produced.
Colonel David Willey (International Military Staff at NATO HQ) said: ‘’We will distribute these podcasts to the Committee of the Chiefs of Military Medical Services in NATO (COMEDS) at SG and CSG level. It would certainly be of interest to COMEDS community (specifically those working in a primary care setting)’’.
I am speechless and please register and learn about military and RCMP veterans.

Veterans are a valuable asset to any workforce and important to the community.

Last week, I welcomed the Veterans Task Force to City Hall for an important discussion on the Veterans transition from military service to civilian life.

It was a privilege to have experts in the field join us for the afternoon, including CAF Transition Group - Groupe de transition des FAC, ADGA Group of Companies, Commissionaires Ottawa, CCOC - Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation, Co-Chair André Thivierge, Health and Wellness Group Chair Claude Tessier and Mayor Mark Sutcliffe's Director of Outreach, Tej Dulat.

The Veterans Task Force is a network of partners working to inspire social responsibility, proactive collaboration and support for veterans and their families.

FAKE TOP COP

Atop police chief has been accused of deception by wearing a Falklands War medal despite being a 15-year-old cadet during the time.
Nick Adderley, 57, is now being investigated by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and is accused of being a fantasist for wearing the medal.
The probe was launched after a tip off from the local Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner.
The Northamptonshire Chief Constable enlisted in the Royal Navy in 1984, two years after the conflict.
A gross misconduct board hearing and his potential dismissal could occur as he faces accusations of ‘stolen valour’.
Mr Adderley, who was once tipped to become Commissioner for the Met Police in 2022 and is described as a ‘no nonsense cop’, has flaunted the medal at events like the Police Bravery Awards in July.
If the accusations are true, he faces claims of being a Walter Mitty-style fantasist.
Former First Sea Lord Admiral Lord West, awarded a Distinguished Service Cross for bravery in the Falklands, told The Sun: ‘It’s very unfortunate when someone wears a medal they are not entitled to.

I am pleased to report that my yesterday‘s presentation of the Veterans Task Force (Ottawa) was very well received by the Gatineau city councillors.

Given the staggering numbers of homeless people in Gatineau, I thought it appropriate to discuss the initiative from the Toronto Police Service support program. Coucillors looked at me with big eyes open!

Let’s go ahead
