The Board of Directors is delighted to announce the appointment of Michelle Lemieux as its new Executive Director, effective June 1, 2026.

Michelle is a familiar face in our community. She brings more than 25 years of experience in the social services sector, with deep expertise in areas such as food insecurity, poverty reduction, and community support. She currently leads community development and capacity building initiatives at the Ottawa Food Bank, where she supports food distribution and advocacy efforts across the network.

Notably, Michelle spent 18 years at the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre, giving her a deep personal understanding of the Beacon Hill-Cyrville community. Her background includes extensive experience building partnerships and working closely with representatives at all levels of government.

As we prepare to welcome Michelle, we would also like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Erin O’Manique. Her leadership, dedication, and commitment have made a lasting impact, and we are deeply appreciative of her contributions. During the month of June, Erin will be supporting Michelle as she takes on the Executive Director role. We are also very happy to share that Erin will continue supporting GCFC as a volunteer. We are grateful for her ongoing involvement in our community.

We are thrilled to welcome Michelle to the Gloucester Community Food Centre and look forward to the leadership, collaboration, and vision she will bring.

Best regards,

The GCFC Board of Directors
