As she officially ends her term as Governor General of Canada, the Board and staff members of Pauktuutit want to recognize and celebrate Mary Simon!
As the first Indigenous personโ€”and first Inukโ€”to serve in this role, she has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, resilience, and commitment to advancing reconciliation and elevating Indigenous voices across the country. Her journey is a powerful testament to the strength, wisdom, and vision of Inuit women.
She is a great inspiration to all of us, and will be a role model for Inuit women and girls for years to come.
