Earlier this week the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) attended the 2026 Laurier Club Garden Party in Ottawa this week. It was a lovely evening to reconnect and build new relationships with Federal political leadership and staff.Representing the MNO were President Margaret Froh, Provincial Secretary Mitch Case, Chief of Staff and Deputy CEO Jennifer St Germain, and Senior Director of Strategy Meredith Caplan Jamieson.
A premier event of the Ottawa social calendar, the Garden Party was headlined by Prime Minister Mark Carney. It afforded an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, including Prime Minister Mark Carney's wife Diana Fox Carney who shared their love of fiddle music, Health Minister Marjorie Michel, Minister of Artificial intelligence Evan Solomon, Minister for Crown-Indigenous Relations Rebecca Alty, Minister of Seniors Stephanie McLean, Secretary of State (Children and Youth) Anna Gainey, and Liberal National Caucus Chair James Maloney along with many other connections.
