For almost one hundred years, BGC Ottawa, a registered charity, has provided programming directly to children and youth in vulnerable neighbourhoods. Positive relationships. Life-changing programs. As one of Ottawa’s largest child and youth-serving charitable organizations, BGC Ottawa provides vital programs and services to an annual average of 4,500 young Members each year. We provide safe, suppo

rtive places where all kids and teens, of all backgrounds, can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, and develop confidence and skills for life. From anti-racism to Reconciliation to LGBTQ2S+, food security to scholarships to job readiness, our Clubs battle systemic issues with systemic solutions—equity, acceptance, support, opportunity. Last night was beautiful. But what made it truly unforgettable was the incredible community that came together for Ottawa’s kids. 🌅✨

From golden hour cocktails to Mediterranean-inspired moments under the stars, the Sunset on the Riviera Glamping Gala was a celebration of what’s possible when we come together for something that matters.

At the heart of it all is something every child deserves: a meal, a safe place to belong and the opportunity to learn, play and grow. Through BGC Ottawa’s four Clubhouses, children and youth can count on those things all year long.

And last night, this community showed up in an extraordinary way. Together, we raised more than $660,000 for Ottawa’s children and youth! 🎉

The Sunset on the Riviera Glamping Gala is almost here and we could not be more excited to welcome you to BGC Ottawa's Great Lawn for an evening of golden hour cocktails, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, live entertainment and dancing under the stars.

Chef Joe Thottungal and Mary Wong of are bringing exactly that to Sunset on the Riviera with their signature lamb chop, seasoned with their own blend of spices and served alongside eggplant masala and a beautiful lemon pickle – an irresistible nod to the Gala’s Mediterranean theme. 🍽️

This marks Coconut Lagoon’s fourth year joining us for the Gala, and their ongoing commitment to giving back to the community they call home makes them a partner we’re always proud to have. 💛

Adam Vettorel and Chris Schlesak, Co-Owners of North & Navy, are bringing a taste summer to BGC Ottawa’s Sunset on the Riviera Glamping Gala with a vibrant peach and tomato salad featuring whipped French goat cheese, Niagara peaches, fresh tomatoes from Terramor Farms, Kalamata olives and flowering dill. 🌿🍑🍅

To welcome guests to the Gala, they’re also pouring a Hugo Spritz reimagined by Chris and The Thirst Responder, featuring chamomile syrup, St. Germain, Prosecco, soda water, a splash of lime and a fresh mint finish. 🥂✨

The SLL Final was here, and it did not disappoint! 🏀🏆

On Sunday, we wrapped up another incredible season of the Sports & Leadership League, Ottawa’s only free, competitive basketball program for kids and teens, with an unforgettable final game!

Huge congratulations to every player and BGCO Member who showed up, put in the work and gave it their all this season. SLL is about more than the score; it’s about leadership, skill-building, confidence and healthy competition. And this season delivered on all fronts.

A big THANK YOU to our incredible coaches, officials, fans and everyone who helped make this season possible.

The final buzzer sounds on an amazing season. Until next year! 🏀🏆

Congratulations to this year’s Youth Futures graduates! 🎓💛

Last Thursday, we celebrated 150 youth from across Ottawa who completed Youth Futures – a six-month program that builds leadership skills, provides mentorship and offers hands-on work experience.

We’re proud to have had 10 BGC Ottawa Members among this year’s participants – and even prouder that 10 BGC Ottawa staff and alumni served as mentors, sharing their experience and helping guide the next generation.

A special shoutout to Abdulahi, who received a Youth Futures bursary, and Nasra, who took the stage as this year’s emcee!

Thank you to our mentors for investing their time and experience in the next generation, and congratulations to every graduate. We can’t wait to see what you do next! 💛
