The RCMP Musical Ride was proud to play a key role in CANMOUNT 2026, Canada's only national training initiative dedicated to training mounted police teams.

Building on the success of the 2025 inaugural event, this year's two-day training session brought together mounted police officers and horses from police services across Canada, including Toronto, Ottawa, York, Hamilton, Peel, Vancouver, Newfoundland and the RCMP.

Over two days, officers strengthened their skills in equitation, troop movements, crowd management, search and rescue operations, obstacle and sensory training, and inter-agency coordination. These exercises help ensure mounted units are prepared to operate safely and effectively during major public events, demonstrations, search operations and joint deployments.

At its core, CANMOUNT is about collaboration and safety. Through realistic training scenarios, officers develop the skills needed to support public safety while prioritizing the welfare of their horses.

As an annual event, CANMOUNT provides a national platform for Canada's mounted police community to train together, share best practices, and strengthen partnerships.

Fraudsters will impersonate anybody to take advantage of Canadians, including the RCMP.

They may:
• Send false delivery notices for court documents
• Accuse you of serious crimes
• Demand payment to bail a loved one out of jail

The RCMP will never send these messages. They are designed to create a false sense of urgency and pressure you into clicking suspicious links, sending money to unverified sources, or sharing personal information.
