Good afternoon everyone, I wanted to share this excited bursary opportunity!

Are you an Ottawa Community Housing resident attending post-secondary school full-time? You may be eligible to apply for the Inspired by Learning Bursary!

✨ 40 winners will each receive $1000 ✨

Who can apply?
✔ Ottawa Community Housing residents
✔ Full-time post-secondary students
✔ Any age
✔ Previous recipients are welcome to apply again!

📅 Application Deadline: May 31

Important reminders:
• Proof of enrollment is required
• Proof of address is required
• Questions 16 & 17 ask for rough estimated cost amounts over 12 months
• Questions 18–21 should be answered thoughtfully
• All applicants will be contacted whether selected or not

Good afternoon! Foster Farm now has a community worker that can provide you with wrap-around supports. Her name is Bronwyn, you might remember her from supporting Summer Camps last year.

Even if you do not need supports now, feel free to come introduce yourself. She is at the community house Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesday afternoons.

Bronwyn can help connect you with referrals and supports that match your needs. This can also include helping you become more connected with our main organization, Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre, which offers a variety of programs and services for children, youth, older adults, families, employment support, and more.

"My name is Bronwyn and I am a community worker with PQCHC. I have recently graduated from a bachelor's of developmental psychology and I am planning on going back to school for social work in the fall. I worked with PQCHC last summer as a social services assistant for Canada summer jobs through Foster Farm Family House, I am currently working through Foster Farm Family House providing wrap-around support for the communities. I look forward to seeing you around!"

ATTENTION FOSTER FARM OCH MEMBERS ONLY:

Registration for our Back-To-School Supplies program will open next week from Monday, May 25th to Monday, June 8th for students entering Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12.

To register, please call the house at 613-596-4866. If we are unable to answer, please leave a voicemail with your name and phone number, as we only return calls from individuals who leave a voicemail.

ATTENTION FOSTER FARM OCH MEMBERS ONLY:

Howdy everyone!

OCH is hosting Hop on Bikes event on May 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event will take place at Pinecrest Park (2240 Torquay Ave). Located across the street from Pinecrest Terrace. They will be set up right beside the basketball court near the parking lot (see image attached).

Please keep in mind that it is on a first come first serve basis as they have a limited number of adult and children’s bikes.

To be eligible to receive a bike, recipients must be from of one of the following OCH communities:
- Foster Farm
- Michele Heights
- Winthrop Court
- Morrison Gardens
- Pinecrest Terrace

We look forward to seeing you there!
