🎙️ PART 1: Behind the Caregiver’s Story
What does it mean to support someone living with lupus? 💜

Behind every person living with lupus is a network of loved ones who provide support, encouragement, and care. In Part 1 of this candid conversation, a wife, daughter, and friend open up about what it’s really like to be there for someone living with lupus.

They share the challenges, lessons, moments of hope, and the impact lupus can have not only on the person diagnosed, but on the people who love and support them.

Because lupus affects more than one person — and every caregiver has a story. 💜

⭐ Meet Lupus Warrior, Anna Fraser⭐

Hello, I'm Anna, a Lupus Warrior.

I received my diagnosis six years ago—wow, how time flies. But I'd like to backtrack a little.

As a child, I was the one who caught everything. If something was going around, I got it. If there was a special event, like Christmas, I was often sick and spending most of it in my room. I didn't know why.

I tried to stay out of the sun because whenever I was in it, I would become extremely tired. I didn't know why. Mosquitoes and bugs always seemed to bite me more than anyone else. I didn't know why. I would get boils and blisters. I didn't know why. My health was always on my mind, but I never had any answers.

Being adopted, the fear of the unknown was always there. Eventually, it caught up with me.

I was diagnosed with lupus nephritis, a condition I've been dealing with for the past six years—but looking back, it feels like I've been living with it my whole life. Now I finally know why

With the support of an incredible team of doctors, along with my family and friends, I'm grateful to say that I am now in remission.

Living with lupus isn't easy, physically or emotionally. It's a completely different way of life—staying out of the sun, wearing UV-protective clothing, changing my eating habits, adjusting my sleep, and making exercise part of my routine. Every day brings new challenges. There are also the constant explanations of why I can't do certain things or why I need to do things differently. Those choices aren't about limiting my life—they're about helping me live it as well as I can.

I've learned to take life one day at a time, celebrating the wins and working through the losses. Through it all, I've tried to stay positive.

I always encourage my fellow lupus warriors to stick together. There is strength in numbers.

No two of us have the same journey, but every one of us can relate to what it means to live with this disease.

Be kind to yourself, celebrate every win, no matter how small, and never lose hope.
