Oromocto Volunteer Firefighters Association The Oromocto Fire Department is a 54-member composite (combination) fire department that operates under the direction of Chief Jody Price.

A non-profit association comprised of volunteer firefighters from the Oromocto Fire Department dedicated to fire prevention/protection, medical first response, rescue, disaster services and assistance to serve Oromocto and surrounding communities. We provide fire protection services to a population of approximately 25,000 in the Town of Oromocto and surrounding rural communities of Burton/Geary, R

usagonis/Waasis, Lincoln, Maugerville and Sheffield. The Oromocto Fire Department proudly provides dedicated fire prevention/protection, medical first response, rescue, disaster services and assistance to serve Oromocto and surrounding communities. The Oromocto Fire Department invites you to join us for our FireSmart Wildfire Community Preparedness Day, taking place on Wednesday, July 16, from 6:00 to 7:00PM at Deer Park in Oromocto. This community event is open to surrounding residents.

Throughout the evening, there will be an informative presentation on wildfire preparedness, a free community BBQ, and a Touch-a-Truck session.

Keep an eye out for more Wildfire Community Preparedness Days in the area in the coming weeks!

This morning Engine 2, Rescue 2, Sqaud 2 and Tanker 2 responded along with Engine 1, Car 1 and Car 3 to a report of a structure fire in a non hydrant area.

Companies operated for roughly 4 hours before returning to town. 15 Volunteers responded as well as mutual aid for tankers from Hoyt, Fredericton Junction and New Maryland Fire Departments.

Due to a collision, Route 2 eastbound near km 306 and the junction of Route 7, near Oromocto and Haneytown, traffic is down to one lane. Please proceed with caution if you are travelling in the area.
