🌳 Hundreds of new trees are taking root across Orillia!

Following the devastating 2025 ice storm that resulted in the loss of more than 700 trees across City parks and green spaces, the City of Orillia launched a major tree replanting program.

A $500,000 investment was approved by Council and to supplement this, the City has successfully obtained a $460,000 Green Municipal Fund grant, funded by the Government of Canada, to increase replanting efforts.

This year’s tree planting is nearing completion, including:
🌱 132 at Tudhope Park
🌱 34 at Kitchener Park
🌱 30 at Lankinwood Park
🌱 22 at the West Orillia Sports Complex
🌱 21 at Couchiching Beach Park
🌱 Many additional street tree plantings across Orillia

The project will continue in 2027. This important investment will help restore Orillia’s urban canopy, enhance green spaces, and grow a healthier, greener community for future generations.
