Three cheers for community support! At the Spring 2026 Grants Ceremony for the Community Foundation of Orillia and Area, OPL was thrilled to receive funding for three exciting initiatives.

Thanks to these generous grants, we’ll be adding kid-friendly Chompsaw power tools to the Makerspace to spark creativity and hands-on learning, bringing more special performers to this year’s TD Summer Reading Club programming, and expanding resources for Human Services Coordinator social programs such as Coffee and Connect.

A huge thank you to the Community Foundation for helping make these opportunities possible!

Personalized socks and mugs featuring your kid’s heartfelt masterpiece… or another boring off-the-rack tie? Do we even need to ask?

Join us in the Makerspace on Saturday, June 20 to create a Father’s Day gift he’ll never forget! Participants will design a custom sublimation mug and a pair of socks featuring their own artwork, then bundle everything into a one-of-a-kind gift basket Dad will actually want to show off.

Who will be the next Homeschool Hubble, Hawking or Hodgkins? We're bubbling up with excitement for the OPL Homeschool Science Fair on Tuesday, June 16 from 1:30–3 p.m.!

Whether your experiment (safely) explodes, grows crystals, tests gravity, or uncovers the mysteries of the natural world, this is your chance to show off your scientific discoveries and connect with other homeschool families who love to learn. Plus, it's never too early to start building your Nobel Laureate case! Bonus: the top project will earn a $50 gift card prize!
