As Peel Region prepares for increased travel and activity across the GTA, nCourage is launching a new awareness campaign to help more people recognize the signs of human s*x trafficking and know where to turn for support.

Over the next four weeks, you may see nCourage campaign ads on highway and bridge digital boards, in restaurant washrooms, and at convenience stores throughout Peel Region.

These placements were intentionally chosen to reach people where they live, travel, work, and gather every day.

This is our goal:  increase awareness, encourage action, and connect individuals to a safe place to learn more, seek support, or share concerns.

Human s*x trafficking can happen in any community. By learning the warning signs and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right, we can all play a role in protecting vulnerable youth and supporting those who may be at risk.

Visit nCourage.ca to learn more, access resources, or share concerns.

Please help spread awareness by sharing this campaign with your network.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of PC Tarun Bali, a member of the Dufferin OPP Detachment who died in the line of duty.

Many of our staff and volunteers had the privilege of working alongside PC Bali through our shared commitment to supporting individuals and families during some of their most difficult moments. His loss is felt not only within the OPP, but also among community partners and the many people whose lives were touched by his service.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to PC Bali's family, friends, colleagues, and the entire OPP community. Our thoughts are with all those mourning this profound loss.

Rest in peace, PC Bali. Your service will not be forgotten.

It is with deep sorrow that I confirm that OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali was killed in the line of duty this afternoon in Hearst. His courage and commitment to serving others will never be forgotten. As we grieve this immeasurable loss, I extend our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones, colleagues and the policing community.

Think Art Therapy is just for kids? While it's a very effective tool for children, it's actually for people of all ages. CDVS staff and volunteers were treated to an evening at Art As Therapy with Rupinder Kaur at the Orangeville location (they serve Orangeville, Brampton and Milton). We were treated to a creative evening learning about what they do and how they do it at 45 First St. You really should stop by and check it out.

Just a reminder that we are past the mid point of Sexual Violence Prevention Month and if you haven't taken 10 minutes to watch the "It Happens Here" video featuring the stories of survivors in our community, you really should! It's just under 10 minutes and that can be the thing you do to mark the month. We like to think bad things happen somewhere else, places we are not connected to, places we've never been. Sexual violence can be one of the components of intimate partner violence, domestic abuse, domestic violence...whatever you choose to call it, It Happens Here.

It Happens Here is a powerful survivor-led video created by voices from Dufferin County and Caledon to confront the myth that domestic violence only happens ...
