Behind every park, sports field and trail in Orangeville, there’s a hardworking Parks team keeping them ready for use.

Eight dedicated full-time staff along with our summer students, maintain over 300 acres of green space on a rotating schedule. When the weather cooperates, it takes approximately 9-12 weekdays to complete a full round. Heavy rains can push that timeline out—if we cut before the ground is dry enough, it can damage the turf.

Sports fields are our team’s priority, keeping them ready for our local leagues and players. Boulevards and other areas are worked on through our rotation.

Have you noticed some wilder looking green spaces? That’s completely intentional. Naturalized areas are left uncut to support local biodiversity.

It’s a big job, done and consistently all season long. So if you see our Parks staff trimming away, be sure to give them a wave to say thanks!

Imagine starting your morning without a sidewalk to walk your dog on. No fare-free transit to catch. No crossing guard on the corner where your kids cross safely and no recreation programming. That’s what Orangeville without property taxes looks like, and it’s not Orangeville at all.

💸Your property taxes are investments in the community. They help fund the services you and your neighbours rely on every day, from maintaining roads and parks to supporting firefighters, transit, recreation and the library.

Your 2026 property tax bill is divided across three levels of government: the Town of Orangeville, Dufferin County and the Province of Ontario. Here is how it breaks down:
🟢62¢ — Town of Orangeville: supports local services (includes 55¢ for Town services and 7¢ for OPP policing)
🟢28¢ — Dufferin County: supports paramedics, social services, county roads and waste management
🟢10¢ — Province of Ontario: supports education funding for local school boards

Together, these investments help fund the services and infrastructure you rely on daily.
Over the next few months we’ll share the stories behind your investment.

Want to set it and forget it? Orangeville’s pre-authorized payment plan (PAP) spreads your payments automatically. No due dates to track, no cheques to write. Visit Orangeville.ca or call 519-941-0440 to enroll.

Summer gardening season has begun, and rain barrels are a great way to conserve water while keeping your flowers, hanging baskets and plants thriving.

We know rain barrels can be pricey. That’s why we’ve partnered with RainBarrel.ca to offer our community a $50 subsidy, making it easier and more affordable to collect rainwater at home.

Here's the details:
🌻a limited number of $50 subsidies are available
🌻you must live in the Town of Orangeville and use town water
🌻your address must be linked to a water meter account
🌻there is one subsidy per household

Looking for a place for school drop-offs and pick-ups at ODSS?
There are designated drop-off zones on Matthew Street and Fead Street.

Drop-off zones help improve community safety by keeping vehicle traffic away from crossings directly at the school.

Here's what you need to know:

• drop-off and pick-up stops are limited to 10 minutes
• no long-term parking in designated zones
• stopping or parking on Sunset and Faulkner is not permitted

Together we can keep our school zones safe for everyone.

❌Myth or✅Fact? E-scooter edition

Orangeville banned e-scooters = ❌ Myth

There's a lot of misinformation out there, so what are the facts?

The Town of Orangeville did not ban e-scooters🛴. E-scooters are only permitted in Ontario municipalities that choose to participate in the Province’s e-scooter pilot project and adopt local bylaws governing their use. Orangeville is not a part of the pilot, a position reaffirmed by council at its June 8 meeting.

Participating in the pilot would require municipal bylaws, enforcement considerations and community resources. Council also considered factors such as safety, accessibility, lessons learned from participating municipalities and the use of Orangeville’s shared public spaces.

Orangeville’s roads, bike lanes, parks, trails, sidewalks and Town facilities must remain safe, welcoming and accessible for everyone. As Orangeville is not participating in the pilot, e-scooters are not permitted in public spaces within Town.

Residents interested in learning more about Ontario’s e-scooter pilot project, including provincial operating requirements and safety considerations that may be relevant to those using e-scooters on private property, can visit:
