Something a visitor could see, do, or buy? Join a path and get found! DBOT has launched the Dufferin Tourism Trails. Every local tourism business is invited to participate in this free program. Here's how:

Pick a trail category (or categories) that you self-identify in and/or areas where you’d like to receive coaching. DBOT will give you a free workshop in the areas you want to learn more about, and then recognize and celebrate your business in its category (or categories). The Dufferin Tourism Trails - and the businesses on them - will be extensively promoted locally and across the GTA – make sure your business is on a path!

Does your business have a tourism offering? Something a visitor could see, do, or buy?

Join a path and get found! DBOT has launched the Dufferin Tourism Trails and is hosting FREE a coaching and knowledge sharing session this Oct 4.

Each session will be led by a presenter, providing you with data on the tourism industry relevant to the category, share tips and suggestions on the unique needs of visitors, and provide information on additional training opportunities and articles for you to take away from the session for your own growth.

REGISTER with for as many of our knowledge sharing sessions as you would like and get your business recognized as a LGBTQ+ Safe Space, Tourism Attraction, Accessible business, Environmentally Responsibility or Socially Responsible business on the Dufferin Tourism Trails!

Look forward to a day of learning and networking with other tourism-ready businesses in Dufferin.

Session Schedule:

- LGBTQ + Safe Space Session, 9:15am-10:45am
- Tourism Attraction, 10:45am-12:45pm (including lunch + networking)
- Accessibility, 12:00pm-1:30pm (including lunch + networking)

Apply For The Grow Your Business Online Grant!

As part of the Canada Digital Adoption Program, the Government of Canada has partnered with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to deliver the Grow Your Business Online grant.

Through this program, small business owners can receive a micro-grant worth up to $2,400 to help get their business online, give their e-commerce presence a boost, or digitalize business operations. Grant recipients must commit to maintaining their digital adoption strategy for at least six months.

In addition, e-commerce advisors will be available to work with grant recipients to help identify their digital needs, provide links to digital resources, help with completing applications, and answering questions on the Grow Your Business Online program.

Tourism-ready businesses have been submitting to be part of the Dufferin Tourism Trails project.

Businesses can identify certain categories that appeal to locals and visitors’ areas of interest, receive any necessary coaching in these areas, and then benefit from the extensive advertising campaign to attract tourists from outside our area to Dufferin.

Ukrainian Canadians have been a part of the Canadian cultural mosaic since 1891. They have made a profound mark on the development of Canada through their contributions to arts and culture, politics, education, and sports.⁠

Dufferin County's is creating a Youth Climate Activation Circle and is looking for youth ages 16-25 to help drive climate action in our community.

🌍️ As a Youth Climate Ambassador, you will:

LEARN about climate change

COLLABORATE with fellow volunteers

TAKE meaningful climate action

CONNECT with local experts

🌍️ What We Can Offer You:

A $500 stipend or volunteer hours

Reimbursement for eligible expenses

“Youth Climate Ambassador" certificate

A letter of support and/or reference

Exposure to ‘green’ career pathways
