During an emergency, the most immediate help comes from those around you.

This Emergency Preparedness Week, connect and build relationships in your community.

Here are a few ideas:

Reach out: Say hi, introduce yourself ✔️
Look out: Check in with neighbours or community members after severe weather events or local emergencies ✔️

Help out: Little actions go a long way. Share supplies during a power outage ✔️

Check our neighbourhood preparedness guide for more tips: www.PreparedBC.ca/EmergencyPlan

Rumours and misinformation spread faster than wildfires do. In emergency situations it's more important than ever to ensure you are relying on accurate and trustworthy information.

📱Download our mobile app for up to date information from the source.
📰 Identify your trusted sources before an emergency happens. Look for local news outlets or mailing lists and alerts from your local government.
🚨 Be aware of artificially generated images of wildfires. If it doesn't look quite right, check before you share.
📱Consume social media posts with a critical eye, even unintentional misinformation can spread fast.
