100 Mile & District Emergency Support Services is hosting an open house where you can learn about evacuations and how they can help you now, to register before an evacuation happens. Service BC will be onsite to help with BC eID. Please stop by for a coffee, water, cookies and information on preparedness. Colouring and puzzles for the kids.

During an emergency, the most immediate help comes from those around you.

This Emergency Preparedness Week, connect and build relationships in your community.

Here are a few ideas:

Reach out: Say hi, introduce yourself, or drop off cookies or a greeting card ✔️

Look out: Check in with neighbours or community members after severe weather events or local emergencies ✔️

Help out: Little actions go a long way. Chat with someone who lives alone, share supplies during a power outage or help an elder clear their driveway after a snowfall ✔️

🔥 100 Mile House Fire Rescue – 70th Anniversary & Wildfire Community Preparedness Day 🔥

Join us on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM as we celebrate 70 years of service and promote wildfire preparedness in our community!

👨‍🚒 What to Expect:
• Fire Hall & Truck Tours – Get an inside look at our apparatus and equipment
• 🌭 Free BBQ Hotdogs
• 🚒 Junior Firefighter Challenge – Kids can try hands-on fire safety activities and earn a certificate
• 🎁 Merchandise Table – 70th Anniversary shirts and challenge coins available (proceeds supporting restoration of Engine 2)

⏰ Event Schedule:
• 10:00 AM – Open House Kickoff & 70-Year Reflection
• 12:00 PM – Auto Extrication Demonstration

The District of 100 Mile House is putting the following water restrictions into effect from May 1st, 2026 to September 30th, 2026.

EVEN numbered properties can only water or sprinkle on
EVEN numbered days of the month from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM only.

ODD numbered properties can only water or sprinkle on
ODD numbered days of the month from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM only.

For properties with multiple units, use your unit number to determine if your address is odd or even.

The fine for watering outside of permitted days and times is $50.00 and each occurrence is deemed to be a separate offence.
