It is shameful that the Doug Ford government has effectively ignored this workgroup for six years. These dedicated employees are still waiting for back pay that was ordered by the courts and should have been resolved long ago. If you are able, please show your support and solidarity with these workers as they continue their fight for fairness, accountability, and the compensation they are legally owed. An injury to one is an injury to all of us.

The Oakville & District Labour Council extends heartfelt congratulations to Yolanda McLean on her election as President of CUPE Ontario.

We also congratulate CUPE members across Ontario for participating in the democratic processes and institutions that are the foundation of our labour movement. Strong unions are built through engaged members, open debate, solidarity, and leadership chosen by workers themselves.

As the labour movement enters a new chapter following the leadership of Fred Hahn, this moment represents more than a transition — it signals the continued strength, determination, and unity of working people across this province.

In solidarity, we wish President McLean every success as she takes on this important role.
