Students between the ages of 11 years and 19 years are eligible for a library card at no cost when providing a Kalama School District Student ID card or a declaration of intent for homeschooled students. Student’s residence must be within the 98625 zip code. Student cards are for the student’s use only and will be limited to physical books or DVDs, up to five items at a time. Access to eBooks and audio books is not available with a student card.

Students can obtain their library card by applying at the Kalama Public Library and showing their Student ID. The Library is open 12pm-5pm, Monday-Friday and 9am-2pm on Saturday.

Interested in learning more about your family tree? Now you can trace them online at the Kalama Public Library! Ancestry.com Library Edition provides our library card holders access to online birth, death, marriage, immigration, and census records (and more!). You can work on your own or arrange for an in-person tutorial on Wednesdays during library hours (call 360-673-4568 to schedule). So come in, pull up a computer, and discover your family!

The Kalama Public Library will run its annual Summer Reading Program for six weeks this summer and is looking for volunteers to design and lead one-two simple but enriching activities to complement the program. We are flexible and open, so call (360-673-4568) or come by the library and chat with a librarian about your great ideas!
